Deterministic, automatic, self-healing links. Markdown is excellent for documentation: it gives you fine-grained version history of how a document evolves, and it is easy for both humans and language models to read and process. It has one flaw — links break the moment you refactor. Move a folder, rename a file, and every link pointing into it dies. darnlink fixes that flaw deterministically and automatically . Run it after (or before) any reorganisation and it heals the links. It is built for trees of many nested Markdown files that get relocated and refactored over time. ### 🌐 Cross-repo web links (experimental, opt-in) Beyond local links, darnlink can also anchor and verify cross-repo web links — a Markdown link to a https://github.com/owner/repo/blob/… file in another repository, anchored to that file's uuid . The opt-in web-check --online command (off by default; give it a GITHUB TOKEN even for public destinations — not for permission but for quota: anonymous API calls are 60/h per public IP) anchors a plain link and verifies an anchored one, failing on drift. It's experimental , and the core stays fully offline unless you invoke it. See Elevating your link gate §8 . See it heal a link A robust link carries its target's uuid inline and stays a normal, clickable Markdown link. Move the target and the path goes stale; darnlink . --write finds it by uuid and rewrites only the path: That's the whole idea: the link survived the move","default_branch":null,"files":null,"tree":[],"storefront":"/r/txemi","claimed":false,"request_supported":{"post":"https://gitbuyer.com/r/txemi/darnlink/request-supported","requests":0},"note":"indexed from public GitHub; nothing is for sale on this page.
