This is the same category of tool as O&O ShutUp10++ or WPD (Windows Privacy Dashboard), scoped specifically to the GDID/CDP chain. Trade-off to know before running this: CDP is also what powers some legitimate cross-device features — Timeline/Activity History sync between your PCs, and parts of Phone Link. Disabling it trades those conveniences for reduced telemetry. If you rely on either feature, consider -BlockFirewall alone (network-layer only) instead of -DisableCDP , or test on one machine first. GDID-Guard-Restore.ps1 can undo it if you change your mind. Contents - GDID-Guard.ps1 — PowerShell script with four modes: - -Audit (read-only, no admin required for basic checks): reports current exposure — CDP service state, Activity History setting, local identity cache, existing firewall rules, DNS resolution of known endpoints. - -Snapshot (read-only): saves the same state to a timestamped JSON file under %ProgramData%\\GDID-Guard\\snapshots\\ , for later comparison. - -Compare -SnapshotPath (read-only): diffs current state against a saved snapshot, field by field, and reports what changed.
