Usage Pipelines When optimo is executed, a pipeline of compressors is chosen based on the output file format: - .png - magick.png - .svg - svgo.svg - .jpg/.jpeg - magick.jpg/jpeg + mozjpegtran.jpg/jpeg - .gif - magick.gif + gifsicle.gif - other image formats ( webp , avif , heic , heif , jxl , etc.) - magick. - video formats ( mp4 , m4v , mov , webm , mkv , avi , ogv ) - ffmpeg. Format-specific lossless behavior: - .png — an alpha channel that is fully opaque carries no information, so it is dropped before encoding. This turns RGBA into RGB (25% fewer raw bytes) with zero pixel difference. Animated PNGs are still optimized; only this opaque-alpha removal is skipped for them. - .svg — runs of whitespace inside and are collapsed to a single space. This normalizes their text content; neither element is rendered as graphics, so the drawing is unaffected. Whitespace inside is never touched.
