It takes a multi-paradigm approach because different UI problems require different architectural solutions. Io-Gui adapts its architecture to the problem domain while maintaining consistent reactive principles throughout. Io-Gui relies on interoperable reactive nodes and elements that respond to state changes and mutations. They provide a base for a reactive architecture that combines the best aspects of declarative component-based design, with reactive and composable development patterns. Because nodes and elements are vertices in a single reactive graph, reactivity is not tied to DOM placement. Data models and custom elements bubble changes, mutations, and events through the same graph, crossing the object/element boundary that most frameworks keep apart. A plain data model can parent — and propagate to — a DOM element, and a node can have multiple parents of either kind. See the [deep dive] for how this works and how the dispatcher stays loop-safe. Development Io-Gui has no runtime dependencies and only a few development dependencies.
