I use WireGuard and this Ansible role to setup a fully meshed VPN between all nodes of my little Kubernetes cluster. In general WireGuard is a network tunnel (VPN) for IPv4 and IPv6 that uses UDP. Supported operating systems Linux This role should work with: - Ubuntu 22.04 (Jammy Jellyfish) - Ubuntu 24.04 (Noble Numbat) - Ubuntu 26.04 (Resolute Raccoon) - Archlinux - Debian 12 (Bookworm) - Debian 13 (Trixie) - Fedora 42 - Fedora 43 - AlmaLinux 9 - AlmaLinux 10 - Rocky Linux 9 - Rocky Linux 10 - openSUSE Leap 15.6 - openSUSE Leap 16.0 - Oracle Linux 9 Linux - Best effort - Debian 11 (Bullseye) - AlmaLinux 8 - Rocky Linux 8 - elementary OS 6 MacOS While this playbook configures, enables and starts a systemd service on Linux in a such a way that no additional action is needed, on MacOS it installs the required packages and it just generates the correct wg0.conf file that is then placed in the specified wireguard remote directory ( /opt/local/etc/wireguard by default).
