NVM for Windows The Microsoft / npm / Google recommended Node.js version manager for Windows . This is not the same thing as nvm! (expand for details) The original nvm is a completely separate project for Mac/Linux only. This project uses an entirely different philosophy and is not just a clone of nvm. The latest version (v1.2.x) is a transition version) as we complete work on Runtime, the successor to NVM for Windows. However; there is a known bug that may impact some users when installing old (EOL) versions of Node.js. The last stable version supports most EOL versions. Some companies need very specific features of both versions, which is not possible with today's public releases.
