Recall is now measured : a benchmark ships with the engine ( eval recall.py ), scores retrieval against a gold set, and prints a number you can reproduce on your own vault. Against it, this release delivers a 30× improvement in retrieval accuracy — and because the benchmark travels with the code, future changes are held to it automatically. Three upgrades drive that. Queries are now embedded in the same vector space as your notes, so semantic search compares like with like. Ranking scores the full candidate pool rather than a pre-filtered slice, so the best match can't be dropped before it's judged. And the ranking weights now favour specific, contextually relevant notes over generic ones. Alongside it, a memory lifecycle : notes are tiered into open loops, standing doctrine, and closed history, so the always-loaded index stays lean while everything else stays findable. Three tools keep it that way — memory distill.py compresses, memory promote.py moves notes between hot and cold, and memory reconcile.py flags notes that contradict each other so superseded guidance never gets served as current.
