Why this? As of 2026, this is the only way to truly and completely disable passkey prompts and passkey autofill in Chrome, and the only way to have granular per-site control in Firefox. This project exists to give control back to the user . Passkeys are increasingly pushed by browsers and websites, but they can: - Trigger unwanted system dialogs - Create conflicts with password managers - Be undesirable in shared or managed environments - Break automation or specific password-based workflows What does it do? This extension disables WebAuthn requests and can be configured to block passkey login, creation, or both. Passkey entries in autofill will be blocked as well. The new v2.x blocking engine turns off the browser's native WebAuthn support while letting password managers create and log in with their own passkeys. This disables the native passkey autofill prompt but lets you use passkeys with your manager of choice, resulting in a cleaner experience. Unfortunately, on Chrome with conflicting ad-blockers or on Firefox, we must block 3rd-party password managers' ability to use passkeys too, so you will need to whitelist the specific domains you'd want to use your password manager passkeys on. Other features: - Whitelist/blacklist domain filters - Reactive UI showing hints and status - 5 supported languages (🇬🇧 🇫🇷 🇩🇪 🇮🇹 🇪🇸) - Adaptive light/dark mode UI - Acces","default_branch":null,"files":null,"tree":[],"storefront":"/r/TheConfax","claimed":false,"request_supported":{"post":"https://gitbuyer.com/r/TheConfax/Disable-Passkeys/request-supported","requests":0},"note":"indexed from public GitHub; nothing is for sale on this page.
