One side reads, catalogs, connects. The other acts: writes documents, analyzes data, answers questions. Every document in makes answers sharper. Every answer reveals what's still missing. Knowledge and action, in a loop. Visit the official website --- 🏛️ What is this? JanusLM turns any AI coding agent into a general-purpose assistant backed by a structured, multi-project knowledge base. It builds on the LLM Wiki concept by Andrej Karpathy — a knowledge management system fully maintained by an AI agent. You drop documents in, the agent decomposes them into structured, interlinked pages: sources, entities, concepts, and syntheses. It maintains an index, a living overview, and a knowledge graph. [!IMPORTANT] A fully agentic system works fine with a few documents. Scale it up with hundreds of sources and massive batch operations, and the agent starts making mistakes it can't catch: duplicates, broken links, missing pages. The knowledge base slowly poisons itself. JanusLM is a deterministically-assisted agentic system . The agent doesn't work alone. A set of deterministic Python tools handles the heavy lifting: structure, validation, quality checks. Same input, same output, every time. But they never replace what the agent is actually good at: reading a document, understanding it, and connecting ideas across everything it's seen. The tools keep things clean. The agent keeps things smart. Why not RAG?
