It was not because they lacked experience or ability. In many cases, their resumes simply did not include enough of the right keywords from the job description. As I learned more about how ATS systems work, I realized this was a much bigger problem than I first thought. These systems often rely heavily on keyword matching, which means strong candidates can get filtered out before a recruiter ever sees their application. It is not that people are not good enough. It is that their resumes are not written in the exact language the system is looking for. Because of that, many job seekers now end up rewriting their resume for every single job description just to improve their chances. That process is time-consuming, repetitive, and exhausting.
